It appears that the demise of Six Sigma has already started. In a sign that companies are trying to distance themselves from the problems surrounding 6 Sigma, the 6 Sigma Technology Group has chosen to changed it's name to Management Science and Innovation (MSI). See http://bit.ly/arLqtb
